La Damiana Inn |
Damiana is a small, intimate posada located in the heart of Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The house was built as a
large family casa around 1916, and renovated into an inn in 2005. The Inn currently consists of five individual rooms, a
central sala, an outdoor patio and garden area, and a front sitting porch. It is a great place for groups to meet, and has
been the location for family reunions, educational and eco-tourist groups, or any group of people wanting a homey
atmosphere where all can be accommodated.

Damiana is centrally located on Francisco Madero, between Hildalgo and
Fco. Jordan. This excellent site places guests within three blocks of
Loreto's outstanding attractions, including the Plaza, the historic Spanish
Mission, the town museum, restaurants, and shopping.
Or head east for a short walk to the gorgeous Sea of Cortez, where you
can stroll along the Malacon, watch pelicans and fishermen in the marina,
or search for seashells on the sandy beaches. |

| Once occupied by the father of the family, a
general in the Mexican Army, this is a very
private room at the back of the house. It
has a king size bed, high ceilings and a view
of the garden. The headboard is hand
carved from mainland Mexico and was used
by the general when he lived at the casa.
Historically the room has had alternate uses,
including housing a medical clinic
established by the doctor in Loreto. |
