Hotel Punta Pescadero

Nestled in the golden coast of the Sea of Cortés, only 14km away from Los Barriles on the East Cape which is less than 60 miles from the San José International Airport, Punta Pescadero offers an elegant and secluded setting with architecture and hospitality reminiscent of the grand early California Haciendas. This beautiful resort is held purposely smal; and offers 21 intimate oceanfront rooms with private balconies, minibar, a/c, satellite TV, etc. Guests at Punta Pescadero may pursue a wealth of sporting activities, including tennis, snorkeling in the warm, azure waters or visit the sea lions. Archaeological tours to the prehistoric paintings can also be arranged.

Hotel Punta Pescadero Amenities

Hotel Punta Pescadero Rooms

Spacious remodeled in 2005 rooms, each with their own spectacular view of the Sea of Cortés, are available for our guests. The rooms have large living rooms with fireplaces. Every room has a private terrace overlooking the sea. All rooms have small refrigerators, air conditioning and satellite TV.

The purposely intimate size of Punta Pescadero allows us to offer a level of personal service unsurpassed for weddings, honeymoons, family reunions and holiday outings. The resorts' seclusion makes it ideal for small corporate gatherings.

Dining

Our food is worth the trip. Cocktail and hors d'ourves on the terrace and candlelight dinners under the stars are treasured traditions in the balmy atmosphere of Punta Pescadero.

Hearty breakfasts and delicious lunches and dinners are available to guests. With menus changing daily. Fish entrees selected from the catch of the day are among some of the finest tasting and freshest fish in the world, always exceeding the expectations of the most discriminating gourmets. A Mexican night with it's rich assortment of spicy and flavorful native dishes is truly a feast to look foreword to and long remember.

Recreation

A full menu of water recreation awaits you at Punta Pescadero in the perpetual summer of Baja. The hotel property is fronted with over a mile of sandy beach, a fraction of what our guests can enjoy. There are various exposed rocky formations and tide pools. We do not get pacific surf conditions that south facing beaches in Los Cabos experience. Consequently, if there is little or no wind, the sea is calm and excellent for wading, swimming or snorkeling. The underwater areas have granite formations, coral, and lots of fish.

Fishing The natives called it Punta Pescadero (Fisherman's Point) for it's excellent fishing long before we arrived. Our cozy resort began as a haven for fisherman and still is. June, July and August is hot but best for fishing.

Swimming Choose between our fresh water pool adjacent to the cantina or a rejuvenating dip in the sea. Sea temperatures range from 85 degrees in the fall to 68 degrees in spring.

Snorkeling The rocks offshore reveal a teeming underwater life of fascinating flora and fauna spanning the spectrum of the rainbow. No wet suits needed here in the comfort of our warm sea.

Diving tours are available through a professional english-speaking dive operator, Vista Sea Sports. They can certify you for an ocean dive, as well as other instruction. More equipment is available through Vista Sea Sports.

Land Activities Guests who aren't in the mood for aquatics find a variety of land-based pursuits for amusement at Punta Pescadero. Lighted tennis courts, ping pong tables and a beach volleyball court await those with a preference for organized sports. Accommodating those whose tastes run to less vigorous activity there are horseshoe pits. Our miles of beach afford fabulous shell collecting opportunities. There are many interesting species of sea and land birds for watching. Whale watching flights over schools of mammoth California Gray Whales offer spectacular experiences that only Baja provides.
