The Grand Oasis is especially popular among couples and singles who are in their mid-twenties and older, and who enjoy the many facilities offered by the resort and its sister resorts, such as the Oasis Cancun Resort, which is situated on both sides of this hotel.

Guests of this hotel have exclusive access to a roped-off section of the white-sand beach which runs past the complex, and to the wait staff who come by with drinks. The pool lies within the spacious tropical gardens and measures approximately 448 meters (490 yards, or about a quarter of a mile). It is long enough to host three swim-up bars.

The hotel's pyramid shape creates an eight-story atrium with skylights and multi-story hanging plants. An upper lobby features Mayan artifacts, leather couches, and views of a dense tropical garden containing walkways and a waterfall pool in a sunken lower lobby accessible by escalator.

Adjacent to the garden are a large, air-conditioned business center with contemporary furnishings, with computers providing high-speed Internet access (surcharge), and a gift shop. Meeting facilities can be configured for conferences or smaller meetings and can accommodate up to 2500 guests.

A health spa offers massage, body treatments, facials, waxing, braiding, and hair and nail care; it features a couple's massage room and a candlelit relaxation lounge. Items served at the delicatessen, which is part of Tatish restaurant, are part of the All-Inclusive plan.

This all-inclusive hotel offers 318 air-conditioned guestrooms in a six-story building shaped like a Mayan pyramid (with elevators), and on the top floor of a four-story beachfront building (no elevators). Rooms feature ground-floor patios or upper-floor balconies furnished with two chairs. Views include expansive grounds and gardens, the Caribbean Sea, or Nichupté Lagoon between Cancun Island and the mainland.

Room decor features yellow and green walls, white ceilings, Mexican-style furniture of caramel-colored wood and wrought iron, marble floors, and green marble bathrooms. In-room safes are available for daily surcharges. Minibar drinks of beer, soft drinks, and bottled water are complimentary but other liquors incur surcharges.
Although rooms with two double beds are available, most rooms come with one king bed.

Careyes - Fine dining, air-conditioned Mexican restaurant with Mayan-style artifacts, yellow and blue walls. Lounge with leather seating, dance floor, and live music nightly. Includes Careyes Bar specializing in tequilas. Open for dinner only. Reservations required. Dress code: Long pants, collared shirts, closed-toe shoes (no sneakers) for men. Children under age 13 not permitted.

This resort’s pool is large enough for three swim-up bars and a series of small waterfalls, plus a shallow area for children. Water sports include sailing and windsurfing at the resort’s marina on Nichupté Lagoon, which lies between Cancun and the mainland. A water sports desk arranges Jet Skiing, parasailing, fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving from the resort dock (surcharges for all). Two tennis courts and a basketball court are available (surcharges for night use of courts). Greens fees are complimentary for the on-site par 3, nine-hole golf course (surcharges for rental equipment).
