Gran Melia's spa offers full-body and facial treatments, a sauna, and herbal steam room. Personal-care amenities, tea, chlorophyll water, bathrobes, sandals, and towels are provided. Day-use lockers, a fitness center, and a beauty salon are also featured.
A children’s club provides complimentary supervised activities for ages 4-12. Complimentary adult activities include Spanish and dancing lessons, water aerobics, bingo, and beach volleyball. A complimentary sound-and-light show, sometimes including Mayan dancers, takes place in the main building's garden atrium twice weekly.
The business center has wireless Internet access and four computers with high-speed Internet access (surcharges for both). Flexible meeting space totals 2,890 square meters (31,000 square feet) and includes 21 breakout rooms and audiovisual equipment. A multi-purpose foyer contains 185 square meters (2,000 square feet). Up to 2,000 guests can join in receptions, and up to 1,200 guests can sit down for banquets. The hotel can arrange theme parties with props, costumes, food, beverages, music, and live entertainment for special occasions. It can also help arrange tours of area sites, including archaeological sites and nearby islands.

| Gran Melia Cancun offers 678 spacious guestrooms and suites in five pyramid-shaped towers of 5-8 stories. Each tower contains a garden/pond atrium topped by a pyramid-shaped skylight. Lacy vines drape the interior.
Large balconies or ground-floor terraces are fringed by plants and furnished with chairs and cocktail tables. Views are of Nichupté Lagoon or the Caribbean Sea. Air-conditioned rooms and suites also have marble floors, Mayan-style bas reliefs, upholstered chairs, and dining sets. Marble bathrooms include shower/tub combinations and bidets.
Flat-screen (plasma) TVs come with cable, high-speed Internet access is available (surcharge), and rooms have direct access to telephone lines. In-room safes (large enough to accommodate laptops and video cameras) and minibars are included. Room service is available 24 hours.
In addition, Royal Service rooms are housed in a separate pyramid, and provide a private lounge with check-in and check-out services, a welcome drink, and scented towels. A daily Continental breakfast is served until late morning; coffee, tea, water, fruit, and dry snacks are served in the afternoon; and an international bar service and hors d’oeuvres are offered each evening. Late check-out until 4 PM is provided (subject to availability).
Bathrobes, slippers, a pillow menu, unlimited media, and wireless Internet access in the main atrium are also provided. Guests receive access to an exclusive swimming pool and two outdoor spa tubs, 35 Balinese huts, a library, fresh water and fruit, and a snack bar. | Two freeform pools are located on terraces running the length of the resort's 600-meter (656-yard) beach. One measures 183 meters (200 yards), includes three jetted sections and a swim-up bar, and is paired with a children's pool. The other, a two-level affair, measures 115 meters (126 yards), including a section roped off for exclusive use by guests of Royal Pyramid rooms.
An independent water-sports center, AquaWorld, rents snorkeling gear and boogie boards at the resort, offers parasailing flights off the beach, and conducts scuba-diving classes in the larger pool.
AquaWorld's marina, across the street from the resort, offers myriad aquatic activities, including kayaking, personal watercraft, sailing, and windsurfing. The marina also books fishing trips and scuba-diving and snorkeling excursions. |
