Depending on what time of year you visit, the climate in Alonissos can change.

Generally has hot, dry summers and moderate, wet winters due to its Mediterranean climate.

The weather is often warm and sunny during the summer months (June to September), with temperatures averaging between the mid-70s and low-80s Fahrenheit (24-30°C).

Winter temperatures (December to March) are lower and more erratic, with typical highs in the mid- to low-fifties of Fahrenheit (13-18°C) with sporadic rainfall, The island can occasionally be windy, especially in the winter.

How to Get to Alonissos Island

You can get to the Island by Ferry, there are regular scheduled departures from the mainland, and there are a few ports in the way at the closest Islands.

The closest Airport is located in Skiathos, that is part of the Sporades Islands, and it is between the ports in the mainland like Volos and Agios Constantinos.

There is an International Airport in Volos, besides that, the closest is located at Athens, the Venizelou International Airport.

Alonissos could be a little trickier to get to than other more well-known or “popular” Greek islands.

A daily ferry service runs from the harbors of Volos, Thessalonica, Skiathos, and Skopelos to Alonissos throughout the summer. Flying dolphin hydrofoil shuttles are also available.

There is a passenger bus service from the center of Athens to make your trip to and from the port of Volos more convenient.

Please be aware that the summer ferry/catamaran timetables are typically announced and confirmed around April.
